Catdoku is a cute but surprisingly tricky logic puzzle game where your job is to place cats in the right spaces on a colorful grid. Forget numbers and traditional Sudoku rules each board uses rows, columns, colored regions, and the Aloof Rule to test how well you can spot the only move that works. It starts off easy, but once the cats begin filling the board, every placement matters.
The Board Has More To Say Than It Looks
Every Catdoku puzzle asks you to place one cat in each row, column, and colored region. There is also the Aloof Rule: cats cannot sit next to each other, even diagonally. A single placement can therefore change a surprising number of cells around the board.
Read The Board Before You Move In Catdoku
- Find the crowded areas: A row, column, or region with only a few open cells is often worth checking first.
- Follow the colors: A small region may leave only one realistic place for its cat.
- Leave room around cats: Remember that diagonal spaces count too when checking nearby cells.
- Use X marks: Cross out cells you know cannot work instead of trying to remember every restriction.

- Click a tile to add an X.
- Double-click a tile to place a cat.
- Click again to remove your mark.
When One Cat Changes Everything
The fun of Catdoku comes from how connected the board feels. You may place one cat because a region gives you no other option, only to discover that the move also solves part of another row. Larger puzzles make these connections harder to spot, especially when the colored regions become less predictable.
