Stick Up

Stick Up is a simple escape arcade game that becomes surprisingly tense once you start climbing. Your stickman keeps moving upward while dangerous objects such as swords, saws, razors, and shurikens get in the way. You control the shield and use it to clear a safe path, while also trying to collect diamonds and reach a higher record. The controls are easy to understand, but staying focused is another story. One careless move can send the character straight into an obstacle.

How Stick Up Makes Every Move Feel Risky

The Shield Is Your Only Safety Net
The shield does most of the work, but it still depends on your timing. Move it too early and you may leave the stickman exposed. Wait too long and an obstacle can reach him before you react.
Higher Means Less Room for Mistakes
At first, the path feels fairly manageable. As you climb, though, obstacles start demanding quicker decisions. There is less time to think, so you naturally start watching the shield more carefully.
Diamonds Can Cause Trouble
Collecting diamonds is fun, but chasing every one isn't always worth it. Sometimes the safer path is more important than grabbing a diamond sitting dangerously close to an obstacle.

Why Small Mistakes Matter So Much in Stick Up

1
Shield Position: I sometimes move the shield too much and forget that the other side is still exposed.
2
Bad Timing: A move that feels right can still be too early, and by the time the obstacle reaches me, the shield is already out of place.
3
Going for Diamonds: I’ve lost a few good runs just because I wanted a diamond that was sitting in a risky spot.
4
Rushing: When I start panicking, I usually make more mistakes than the obstacles do.
5
Not Watching Ahead: It’s easy to focus on what’s right in front of you and completely miss what’s coming next.

What Stick Up Teaches You About Timing and Patience

Stick Up taught me pretty quickly that there’s no point in rushing every move. At first, I kept moving the shield whenever I saw something dangerous, which usually ended with me making another mistake. I used to move the shield the moment I saw an obstacle coming. That usually made things worse. Once I stopped panicking and waited for the right opening, my runs got much better. Sometimes the best move is simply to wait. Sometimes, just staying calm and moving at the right moment is enough to get much higher.
