Try a few different timings first. If nothing works, skipping saves the frustration.

The Difference Between a Comfortable Gap and a Dangerous Gap
The dangerous gaps are the ones that look safe in Crystal Circuit. You see plenty of space between two crystals and think, “That's enough.” But the circuit keeps moving, so that space can shrink before your crystal actually reaches it. A comfortable gap gives you some breathing room. You don't have to launch at the exact perfect moment because there is still room for a small timing mistake. That's the kind of opening I started looking for.
The Biggest Problem Is Rushing
Rushing in Crystal Circuit is probably the easiest way to lose. You see a gap and immediately launch, only to find out it wasn't big enough. There's no reason to force it. Wait for the next opening, especially when the circuit is moving quickly. A few extra seconds of patience can save the whole run.
