Cobb Can Move Game Review and First Impressions

Cobb Can Move is a horror game mix of top-down puzzles of dread, where the monster’s rulebook is rewritten every single level. You start in a dark room, with simple tasks like grabbing coal or flipping a furnace, and a creature named Cobb who is close enough to feel wrong. The game tells you exactly what he can do: hear, see, smell, and reach farther. That clarity is a trick. The pixel style is clean, but the pressure is real. Each death teaches you something specific: a bad corner, a noisy step, a moment you stayed still too long.

Best Survival Tips

Read the rule, then say it out loud

The level text is not flavor text. It is the whole danger. Before you take one step, whisper to yourself: “Cobb can smell. Cobb can see. Cobb can reach.” Speaking forces your brain to hold the rule under panic. If you only glance, you will forget within ten seconds.

Treat sound like a third health bar

When Cobb can hear, every key tap is a risk. Walk in short bursts. Stop often. Do not run unless you see the exit. And never move while Cobb is on the same horizontal or vertical line if there is no wall between you. Hearing ignores darkness.

Give Cobb a fake radius for “reach”

If the level says Cobb can reach farther than normal, double your safe distance mentally. The tile next to him is not safe. Three tiles away is not safe. Act like his arm covers half the room. Move in wide loops, never tight corners.

Why Did Cobb Find Me So Fast?

I used to think standing still meant safety. If Cobb can hear, every step I take on metal or broken tile echoes across the whole room. I died once just by running three steps while he was around one corner.

I learned that light is not my friend. A glowing furnace? A torch in my hand? Cobb sees all of it. One time, I lit a furnace, and he walked straight through chairs and tables to grab me. I don't trust "bright equals safe" anymore.

Smell is a trap for lazy players. If I hide in the same corner for more than five seconds, Cobb follows my scent. Now I always move in circles and never stay in one spot too long. Bloody lesson.

Cobb with "extended reach" is frustrating. His sprite looks small, but his hitbox is bigger than you think. I once stood two tiles away, thought I was safe, and he still caught me. Now I keep double that distance.

The most important thing: Cobb sometimes pretends to be idle. I got excited, thought he left, and then pressed a movement key. He spun around instantly. He is not stupid. He is just waiting for me to break the rule.

My tip: Read the level rules before pressing any key. Forgetting one detail can be fatal.
